Exemplar Press is excited to offer the history of Ephraim Lafayette Allred and Harriet Matilda Brunson in a book titled “Kiss The Babies For Me: A Story of an Allred Family”. Dawnell Hatton Griffin has done a marvelous job in writing and compiling this collection of original journals with over 155 photos and numerous documents. This book was originally published in 1989 and has been re-scanned with additional genealogy sheets and bound in rich blue hard binding.

Ephraim was recorded as the first male child born in Ephraim Fort, Utah. His father is Reuben Warren Allred. His wife Harriet was the granddaughter of Seymour Brunson. Seymour is mentioned in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, The Doctrine and Covenants section 124 verse 132.

Ephraim and Harriet were married in the Saint George Temple just eight months after its dedication. They lived in a number of central towns of Utah. They include: Chester, Sanpete County, Deseret, Millard County, Hinckley, and Ferron, Emery County, Utah.

Dawnell has collected stories on seven of the thirteen children. We learn about Louis Ephraim Allred, Amanda Adaline Allred Edwards, Thomas Lorenzo Allred, Harriet Cynthia Allred Olson, Altania Ann Allred Olson, Juston Peter Allred and the twin child Clement Allred.

If you are a descendant of Ephraim Allred, or just a Utah history fan, this is a great book to read.
